Scholarship Requirements for Foreign Certificates

IGCSE: Minimum 88% in the overall score of 8 subjects.

Thanaweya Amma: Minimum 77% in the overall score. This is subject to change according to the Tanseeq of the current academic year.

American diploma:  Minimum 88% in the overall academic high school grade (50%) + SAT/ACT I (50%).

Canadian Diploma

–Ontario (ON): Minimum 77% in the overall score of 6 subjects, including qualifying subjects.

–British Columbia (BC): Minimum 77% in the overall score of 5 subjects, including qualifying subjects.

French Bac.: Minimum 13/20 in the overall score of 7 subjects.

Abitur: Minimum note 3.0 in the overall score of 7 subjects.

IB: Minimum point 29.

Pharmaceutical Science

Scholarship Terms and Conditions

No Scholarship for referral and retakes students.

Academic scholarship

For newly admitted students, Academic Scholarships is calculated based on the minimum overall high school grades and is reflected in the different fees categories (A,B,C). For more details, refer to the Tuition fees and Scholarship sections.

Academic Scholarships are announced based on the University’s yearly updates before the start of Admissions.

Students who are admitted to the university and awarded a merit scholarship may maintain the same category of the tuition fees if they complete 120 credits and achieved a minimum GPA of 4.0/5 after the academic year. 

For enrolled students who are admitted with full tuition fees scheme, if they complete 120 credits and achieve a minimum GPA of 4.0/5 after the academic year they will be entitled for a scholarship according to the table below:

85 Excellent 4.5

Category A

77 Very good 4.25

Category B

72 Very good 4.0

Category C

Scholarships will be reviewed on yearly basis and may be awarded to high achievers based on the table below.

Scholarships will not be considered for part-time students or those who have completed less than 120 credits during the academic year.

President’s scholarship

50% scholarship for highly distinguished Students. Selection for the scholarship is based on the following:

  • Top 50 students in Thanawiya amma nationwide.
  • IB Diploma with score of 37 and more.
  • French Baccalaureate. with score of 18 and more.
  • IGCSE with score 100%
  • Abitur with score 1.0 to 1.5
  • Highly accomplished achievement in an individual sport with an international medal.

To maintain beyond the first year students will need to achieve a minimum GPA of 4.25

Early Bird Grant

To reserve a place in the coming semester, provisionally accepted students may pay a non-refundable EGP 20k before 31st of March, which will grant them a deduction of 10% from the first year’s annual fees. 

The early bird scholarship is not included in the scholarship ceiling.

Any awarded scholarship given with the early bird will be calculated after the deduction of the early bird discount.

STEM Scholarship

STEM Scholarship is awarded similar to the above-mentioned criteria, However, the STEM average is equated by the Thanawya Amma score after adding 10% on the total final average.

Direct Entry Scholarship

Students will be accepted in direct entry level for specific programmes based on UCAS tariff as shown in the table below:

Scholarships Faculty and staff siblings

Currently faculty and staff siblings are granted 20% discount of the required fee after the deduction of all other scholarships for the whole period of study.

The scholarship discount may be upgraded if the staff or faculty has a minimum service in the UH-GAF of 5 years, the upgrade shall be proposed and discussed later.

Maximum number of siblings is three.

45% is the ceiling for the maximum scholarship.

Sporting Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who have a sporting excellence certificate during their enrollment in the university. The certificate must be updated yearly and stamped by the Ministry of Education or Sports and Youth Ministry.

  • Students must submit official documents stamped from الاتحاد واللجنة الاولمبية والمجلس الاعلى للشباب والرياضه
  • First / second / third ranking in International Tournaments: 20% scholarship.
  • First / second ranking in National Tournaments: 15% scholarship.
  • Scholarship ceiling for the Merit and sports scholarship should not exceed 20%
Siblings Scholarship

Second son or daughter will get 10% scholarship provided that both siblings are enrolled at the the university at the same time either in the same year for twins or different academic years. In case one of the siblings enjoys the max 20% merit scholarship, the 10% is given to the other sibling. In case of the withdrawal or graduation of one of the siblings, the sibling scholarship will be automatically cancelled from the second one.

Orphan Scholarship

Students who lose their fathers during their enrollment in the university will get 10% scholarship in addition to their Academic Merit Scholarship. However, in case they didn’t get the excellence scholarship. their orphan scholarship will be saved. Orphan scholarship will apply with no ceiling on the total scholarship awarded to whole study period.

Martyrs’ offspring

50% scholarship for the full years is granted for offspring of martyrs of Military Affairs or Ministry of Interior Affairs upon presenting official documents.
