About the Degree

Physiotherapy is a branch of Medicine and Health, while physiotherapists are evidence-based healthcare professionals who treat patients from physical pain and help them maintain their mobility and motor function.

Our School of Health helps students become professional physiotherapists who offer cost-effective treatments that relieve pain, reduce the need for surgery, and allow patients to participate in a recovery plan designed for their specific needs.

Why this programme?

  • Our physiotherapy students benefit from a high-caliber academic experience through the only programme in Egypt and the Middle East that provides over 1000 hours of work placement, internships, and on-going practice that starts from the first year of study.
  • The multidisciplinary courses provided in the programme cover anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, cardiorespiratory, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, women health, physiotherapy practice and electrotherapy.

Progression Requirements:  From IFP to Level 4
Progression Requirements:  From Level 4 onwards

Students are expected to meet the following requirements in the International Foundation Program (IFP) to progress to Level 4.
  • Achieve a grade of 50% in Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology with a pass in all elements.
  • Achieve a grade of 60% in Basics for physiotherapy II with a pass in all elements.
  • Achieve a grade of 50% in Intensive/Standard English 2
  • Achieve a grade of 40% or in all other modules (Biochemistry- Basics for Physiotherapy I- Intensive/Standard English 1) with a pass in all elements for modules (Bio-Chemistry and Basics for Physiotherapy I)

    Programme-specific assessment regulations; (From Level 4 onwards)

    The programme complies with the University's academic regulations (in particular, UPR AS11, UPR AS13andUPR AS14) with the exception of those listed below, which have been approved by the University.

    Final compensatory credits
    (UPR AS14 section D4.4) and/or intra-module compensation is not permitted;

    At each academic level, the student will normally be required to have passed 45 credits (at first attempt/referral) to be permitted a re-enrolment opportunity and hence repeat failed modules (i.e. FREN grade) (
    UPR AS14, section D3);

Physiotherapists practice their profession in a wide range of settings, such as: joining multi-disciplinary teams in hospitals, outpatient clinics, sports and fitness facilities, medical research centers, rehabilitation, post-partum care, and special needs schools.
