The University of Hertfordshire in Egypt, hosted by Global Academic Foundation, is the first full-fledged branch campus of a UK university in Egypt.
On Sunday February 6th, our Level 4 Mechatronics students set off for their latest adventure: an industrial visit to El-Sewedy Group Co! Elsewedy Electric CO is multinational electrical company that manufactures and sells integrated energy products and services in many segments, including electrical cables, electrical products, transformers, energy measurement and management. The visit covered a three-part tour to three of El-Sewedy’s grand factories: Iskraemeco Factory (Smart Meters Factory), Egytech Factory (Power Cables factory) and it ended with Transformers Factory.
The students were able to benefit from the visit as they watched the manufacturing processes, which they are currently studying in their Manufacturing module. Furthermore, our students, who were accompanied by their professors Dr. Samar Mostafa, Dr. Mostafa Abo Ghadir and Professor Tamer El-Sayed, had the chance to witness firsthand how power transformers are usually manufactured, utilized, and tested. The visit certainly helped our students realize and visualize how the studies, lessons and theories they learn within the classrooms and laboratories are applicable in real life, and how those studies impact their daily lives more than they had thought was possible.
